FC Cincinnati fans dreams were shattered Wednesday night when the boys in orange and blue narrowly lost to the Tampa Bay Rowdies in the third round of the US Open Cup. The final score line of the hard fought match was 1-0. Cincinnati played hard for the majority of the match, but failed to capitalize on their many opportunities. The Tampa Bay Rowdies will now advance to play the Columbus Crew on June 15.
FC Cincinnati started the match by nearly scoring a goal in the 7th minute with a strike on goal by Kenney Walker. The Rowdies fired back with the game winner just 3 minutes later in the 10th minute when Georgi Hristov burned through Cincinnati’s defense.
