McLaughlin, who has started every game for FC Cincinnati, continued to be one of the team’s most reliable scorers coming up big for the squad. Bethlehem’s back line continually foiled most FCC chances as solid chances came few and far between early in the game. FC Cincy eventually wore down the defense and put pressure on opposing goalkeeper Simir Badr.
The FCC defense held strong helping keeper Mitch Hildebrandt record the shutout. Bethlehem’s best opportunity came during stoppage time late in the match as they saw a shot ounce just wide of the goal posts. Besides this shot, it was a quiet day for Cincy’s man between the pipes.
FC Cincinnati’s next matches come on the road. They will take on the Rochester Rhinos next Wed. July 6 followed by a game July 9 against St. Louis. Then Cincinnati returns home for their much anticipated friendly with Crystal Palace FC out of England.
