FC Cincinnati vs Harrisburg City Islanders Game Day Preview

Good morning FC Cincinnati fans! Here is your Game Day Preview vs the Harrisburg City Islanders. Today’s 2nd installment comes after a long break for FC Cincinnati the complete opposite of the last matchup. With FCC’s cancellation of their game vs Charlotte the players have had more than a full week without a game to rest and recover. The first game between the two sides was played out to a slightly disappointing 1-1 draw. In a game that involved squad rotation, professional debuts, and even a slightly different formation. FCC was on the front foot against “City FC”. Jimmy McLaughlin started his excellent run of form vs his old club. He struck the equalizer that the game was calling for and rightly celebrated paying homage to his manager, John Harkes, and the rest of the 1990 United States World Cup squad. On the bright side the draw earned FC Cincinnati their 5th of 9 possible points in a tricky stretch of games and continued their unbeaten streak.

Tonight a win at home vs Harrisburg can vault FCC to 2nd in the USL standings, just 1 point shy of Louisville City. In the fifth straight 10,000 pre sale game I’m sure Nippert will be energetic as is has for us all season. The Bailey will be cheering The Nati on all night. The player to watch tonight is Jimmy McLaughlin. As I said earlier, he is on fire right now. With 2 goals in his last 2 games I’d put my money on him making it 3 in 3. He simply cannot be stopped. If he’s not scoring he’s creating chances and putting in a fantastic work rate every time he steps on the pitch. Controlling the midfield will be important so look for Kenney Walker to get the start and command the field. If those two things happen we could see this game open up to a couple goal lead. The defense had been organized and solid lead by the Aussie Harrison Delbridge. With Mitch between the sticks I can predict a win for FC Cincinnati. If I were to guess, I’d say 4-1 to FCC. Thank you for reading and we’ll see you at Nippert!
